Vintage Halloween Mask

A few items purchased at sales lately.....

Vintage Halloween mask from the 1930's.

Black Cats

Cocktail Shakers and Mixers

Always got to buy the things for my booth that might attract cowboys.

I was in the garage pricing and doing my inventory, so you might notice my son's band equipment in the background.

Update on the "good hoarding" house.  I'm still in the works of doing a total buyout.  Hopefully I can get my hands in there soon!

Weird Science

Buying weird things...that's what I've been doing.
Since I've been home, my town had their annual event "Antiques On The Square".  I don't know what possessed me to buy some of these things.
My inventory has been getting low so I guess it was a panic buying spree.
I do like the PORKY PIG planter.
And western stuff always seem to do well in our area since we are in the old west.  Funny but the vintage "Paint by Numbers" are sort of hot.  I remember as a little girl, for Christmas, we always received one to paint.  I can vividly remember the oil paint smell.
Oh and I couldn't pass up this 1962 Barbie case.
My babies missed me so much!  They acted as if no one fed them while I was gone.  Here I'm trying a sweet pea plant as a new treat.  We had lots of good loving time together and I'm so happy to be home.
All of you English girls with your fabulous gardens, rain and green surroundings.....here is a sample of our landscape.  This flowering cactus appeared on it's own.  I'm really jealous of the other bloggers with their green lands and flowers.  It's too dry here where I live.  But I must accept my fate as I have made a life and family in Arizona.

Back In The Groove

TODAY'S BOOTY

It feels good to be back in the swing of things and participating in life.

Everything I bought was cheap!

I couldn't wait to get home to look the items up on ebay and Etsy.  I think my favorite part of the job is the research, because I'm a real dork.

Here are some of my fun finds......

 2 Goebel birds
A sweet hand painted tin

I think this watercolor is very pretty.....

and the most adorable vintage children's souvenir umbrella from Florida.

Antique DELFTS ginger jar
Enamelware bail handled pot
Vintage luggage rack.....example of my good find, I paid $8 and they are selling for approximately $59.00 on ebay.  Woo Hoo Fun!

Other great finds:  Waterford duck (only paid $1.00), Murano ashtray $1.00, vintage boot jack $3.00 (found one on ebay for $89.00!!!

Is it a crime folks to find these great deals?  It's all in the hit and miss.  Going to billions of sales.  Learning from mistakes.  Not knowing a good thing when you see it.  Not picking something up before someone else, don't hesitate.

Now for the second fun part....getting to display the items in my booth.

Halloween, Owls, Book Update and My Boyfriend

Happy Halloween

A touch of vintage.....

I finished LIFE AFTER DEATH last night & for me this is very Halloween appropriate, because I can't think of anything scarier than being in prison.  It broke my heart thinking of an 18 year old being sent to death row for a crime he did not commit.  Damien was in prison for 18 years enduring beatings, solitude and unjust inhumane treatment. It's a wonder he survived!  I don't think I would have been as strong. Thank you Damien for sharing your story.
PS. My youngest will be 18 in February & I can't imagine this happening to him!

Which leads to my "boyfriend" (ha ha I wish), Eddie  who recommended the book.  He was a big supporter in releasing Damien.  I'll be seeing him in concert this Sunday night!!!!  I can't wait.  On the bucket list to see Eddie.

Sometimes I get lucky with estate sale finds!  Latest goodies...

Roseville, Weller, Redwing Pottery all purchased cheap!!!!

A mink muff with a front zip pocket to act as a purse.  Vintage white leather gloves.  Vintage elf & Santa knee-benders from the 1950's.  Floral tablecloths, etc........

Fun work for me!  Already researched, priced & displayed in my antique booth.

Can You Really Call It Work?

I always admire this booth in the antique mall where I work.

A nice vignette of vintage shoes, hats, gloves and clothing.

And the adorable Molly who comes to work every day with her owner.

Like I said... IF I can really call it work!  More like a hobby.  I only officially help out 1 day a week.

This mall has over 90 dealers & 15,000 square feet of fun.

Sheer Heaven

Three days of just me and my GPS adventuring out while Chuck went to an antique motorcycle show/swap meet.

So many antiques, stores and flea markets = sheer heaven!

Great prices and really different items than what we can buy in Arizona.  I had a blast!  The first day I almost filled the backseat of the truck.

Fred and Ethel's

Cutest store with 1950's kitchen housewares
Vintage clothing & jewelry
I loved all the retro lamps
At a store in LaClaire
an original Egg Chair

Pictured above are a few of the items I purchased for my antique space in AZ.  I was happy when my daughter Jennie wanted to keep the lamp for her dorm room.
