Happenings

A nice little hike around Thumb Butte Mountain.  The forest seems crispy, rain please!

Road from Prescott up the mountain through Jerome, lunch in Cottonwood, to Sedona, winding up Oak Creek Canyon, Flagstaff, Williams and back home.  About 300 miles!  My legs were so sore the next day from an isometric workout.  Couldn't believe we were wearing t-shirts in November.  Didn't have to put our jackets on until the sun went down.  You know, it's hard to take photos while riding a Harley.

Joey the cat brought in an ugly present.  It was as big as a dragon!  Motor kitty sleeping in my Costco bag.

Do you think I bought enough vintage trays?

RIGHT ON

Thank you to the WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE movement!
It didn't happen overnight....
The bill didn't pass until 1920!

I'm behind the candidate who will not set us back 100 years!  Women's Rights, a forward way of thinking, Gay Rights, freedom of "choice", public education, etc..... not a closed minded right-winger.

Eddie Vedder Concert

Well, I got to see my boyfriend in concert last night!  This is a solo tour with Eddie on stage with just acoustic guitars, ukuleles, his beautiful deep voice, no frills stripped down to the bare bones best concert I have ever been to.  The soul and emotional feelings he puts into his music is beyond words!
Now I need to bitch and vent a little.  Maybe it's my age or maybe I'm a bitch, but the people at the concert were very annoying!  The drunks next to me came in late (so they blocked my view), got up 5 times to get refills (blocking my view again) and when they had to go to the bathroom I yelled at them to enter at the other end of the row next time (plus a few cuss words).  The people in the row in front of me were giant tall and they also were up several times getting more beer.  In the audience, I think some left over Pearl Jam fans thought their voices wanted to be heard over Eddie.  When I purchased my tickets I thought they were going to be pretty good seats in the clubhouse level, but I was wrong.
Here is a not good at all photo (none of my photos turned out) of an encore song performed with Glen Hansard.

Funny things that happened after the concert:  Couldn't find my car in the parking garage......then figured out we were in the wrong garage.   Stopped at a convenience store in downtown Phoenix to get my daughter munchies for the trip home........looked like a murder had just taken place......cops, bums, etc......we were dressed up & mistaken for hookers.

Check this event off my bucket list!

Halloween, Owls, Book Update and My Boyfriend

Happy Halloween

A touch of vintage.....

I finished LIFE AFTER DEATH last night & for me this is very Halloween appropriate, because I can't think of anything scarier than being in prison.  It broke my heart thinking of an 18 year old being sent to death row for a crime he did not commit.  Damien was in prison for 18 years enduring beatings, solitude and unjust inhumane treatment. It's a wonder he survived!  I don't think I would have been as strong. Thank you Damien for sharing your story.
PS. My youngest will be 18 in February & I can't imagine this happening to him!

Which leads to my "boyfriend" (ha ha I wish), Eddie  who recommended the book.  He was a big supporter in releasing Damien.  I'll be seeing him in concert this Sunday night!!!!  I can't wait.  On the bucket list to see Eddie.

Hearing The Blues

Good food, friends & family at our local Indian food  restaurant Taj Mahal while listening to good music!
A proud mama moment...getting ready to listen to my son Joe play bass with 2 of his music teachers.

Should have been more camera ready.  There were a lot of people out in great costumes later in the night.

Can You Really Call It Work?

I always admire this booth in the antique mall where I work.

A nice vignette of vintage shoes, hats, gloves and clothing.

And the adorable Molly who comes to work every day with her owner.

Like I said... IF I can really call it work!  More like a hobby.  I only officially help out 1 day a week.

This mall has over 90 dealers & 15,000 square feet of fun.
